You Got Questions and We've Got Answers!

These are the most frequently asked questions when it comes to the Walk-a-Thon, but if you don't see an answer to a question you have,

feel free to email us at: isespto@lincoln.k12.nc.us

Q: when is the walk-a-thon event?

A: The Walk-A-Thon will take place on October 23, 2026. Each grade will have a designated time to come outside to walk around the decorated track to celebrate the money they raised!

Q: what are we raising money for?

A: This year, our goal is to raise money to restore or replace our school’s front sign. Iron Station Elementary is home to hardworking students and staff who continue to excel, and we are proud to be Engineers! Our school sign is one of the first things our families and community see, and want to represent the pride, spirit, and excellence of our school. If we raise more than needed for the sign, additional funds will go to supporting our students, teachers, and school through future projects and needs.

Q: when are boards and money due?

A: For your child to be eligible for any of the prize levels, the filled out board with your donations attached in a baggie or envelope are due on October 16 . We will continue to accept boards and money due beyond this date, but it will not count towards prizes.

Q: If i have more than one child at ises, how will donations be counted?

A: Donations are totaled per household. This means if one child raises $50 and another raises $50, your households combined total is $100. Both children will be credited at the $100 level and would be eligible for the prize at that level.

Q: Is money raised per lap or a flat rate?

A: Although it would be interesting to see some kids walk 280+ laps for the money they raise, the donation increments listed on the board are a flat rate; however, students do need to raise at least $1 to be able to participate in the Walkathon on October 23rd.

Q: how can donations be made for the walk-a-thon?

A: We gladly accept cash, checks, and online donations!

- Checks: Make payable to Iron Station Elementary PTO

- Online Donations: We offer an electronic option through our PTO website! Each student has the option to have their own personal fundraising page. Parents are encouraged to personalize their child’s page and then share it with family and friends.

Q: how can I access my child's fundraising page?

A: To access your child's page

       - Register (or Login) on this website

       - Navigate to Open Forms to see a link to your child's personal fundraising link

- From there, you can easily share the page to Facebook, Twitter, or by email. Each  child's page is private and secure-it can only be accessed by people that you choose to share the link with.

- All donors will automatically receive a receipt and a thank-you email itemizing their tax deductible donation.

Q: is there a credit card processing fee for online donations?

A:Yes - A 2.89% processing fee + $0.30 transaction fee will be added to online donations so more of the funds raised can directly support our students and school.

Q: can we raise more money than what's on the board?

A: Absolutely - when we have more, we can do more! If you complete your board and are still receiving donations, you can either attach a list of the extra money raised to your board, or you can download an additional board below.
