Iron Station Elementary Walk-a-Thon 2026
Our Walk-a-Thon is back, and this year we're taking a page out of the comic books and going superhero!
Get ready to suit up, earn your capes, and help Iron Station Elementary reach our fundraising goal. The Walk-a-Thon is our only fundraiser of the year, and every dollar raised helps support our students, teachers, and school.
The Walk-a-Thon event will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026. Students will walk, cheer, and celebrate together as we work toward our fundraising goal—and some pretty awesome school-wide rewards!
Key Dates
-
October 16 – Final deadline for prize eligibility
-
October 23 – Walk-a-Thon event day (rain date: October 30)
Fundraising Goal & Use of Funds
This year, we're raising funds to restore or replace our school’s front sign—one of the first things our families and community see. Our students and staff work hard and continue to excel, and we are proud to be Engineers. We want a sign that reflects the pride, spirit, and excellence of Iron Station Elementary.
Any funds raised beyond the sign project will support our students, teachers, and school through future projects and needs.
School-Wide Incentives
The more we raise together, the more rewards we unlock!
- $3,000 — Caped in Caps → Everyone gets to wear a hat!
- $6,000 — Superhero Day → Dress like a superhero and enjoy a special guided drawing video!
- $10,000 — Super Recess → The school earns extra recess time!
- $15,000 — Rooftop Rescue → The Principal spends the night on the school roof!
Watch the Hero Meter as we work together to unlock each reward!
Individual Rewards
Students can also earn rewards based on their own fundraising:
- $100 Raised → Take on the Inflatable Obstacle Course on Walk-a-Thon day!
- Top 5 Fundraising Families → Web the Villain! Duct tape the Principal—or a brave staff volunteer—to the wall and hit them with silly string!
Donations must be received by October 16 to count toward individual prize levels.
How to Donate
There are several ways to support our Walk-a-Thon!
Cash & Checks
Students were sent home with a Walk-a-Thon donation board to track their pledges and an envelope to collect cash or checks. Cash and checks should be made payable to Iron Station Elementary PTO.
If you don't have a student at our school or you're a business wishing to contribute, you can also make a donation directly to the overall campaign.
Online Donations
Families can donate online through their child's personal fundraising page, available through our PTO website. Parents are encouraged to personalize their student's page and share the link with family and friends.
Want your donation to count toward a specific student's fundraising total? Be sure to use that student's personal fundraising page. If you don't have their link, contact their parent or guardian and ask them to share it with you.
Online donations include a 2.89% processing fee + $0.30 transaction fee so more of the funds raised can directly support our students and school.
Employer Matching
Your donation may be worth even more! Some employers offer charitable matching programs that will match all or part of your donation to eligible organizations. Check with your employer to see if they offer a matching program and whether Iron Station Elementary PTO qualifies.
